Nostalgic Moment: While framegrabbing all these episode it brought back some memories of the past for me, especially the availability of Simpsons episodes online. During the war, I remember waiting 2 hours to download a 30mb episode on my 56k modem, or streaming low quality media which, by the time the episode had finished it had taken around a hour with all the buffering it had to do. You could be searching for hours to find sites and sources that offered episodes and needed a little bit of computer know how or sometimes a credit card to get to them. I would be buying or adding to my Christmas and Birthday list the Simpsons VHS collections which offered four episodes, of which I had seen hundreds of times before and I would also spend ages programming my video to record all The Simpsons episodes that were to air that week on Sky One. At one point I had written down all the episodes in the Simpsons guide book and would tick them off as I watched them just so I knew I hadn't missed any!


Now you can download episodes in minutes in high quality, and there are thousands of places to download them from, especially with the amount of free file hosts available online. You no longer have to buy crappy VHS, but you can buy high quality DVD collections packed with episodes and special features. You can even come online now to stream Simpsons episodes, legally! With the likes of Sky Plus technology, you can record your favourite shows to hard drive in HD. It's an amazing time for technology and it seems in the space of just a few years things have come on so far, the internet is still in it's infancy, and I just wonder what else is in store for the future. The anticipation is exciting.
